Michaela gave amazing tips for building my plot and came to the rescue with grammar issues. I would recommend Michaela to anyone in need of a punctual editor!
Michaela was fantastic to work with! She was very encouraging and had great ideas, especially for how to smooth out some bulky or hard-to-understand sections. Her line edit suggestions kept everything very true to my style, helping the meaning to shine through without being cluttered with unclear sentences. I recommend her line editing service especially if you're looking for someone to clean up those sticky parts you can't quite figure out how to phrase, or areas where you feel like your writing might be a little too choppy.

Five stars!
Michaela Bush is amazing and talented. She completed a developmental edit for my Young Adult manuscript in a quick and efficient time frame.
I’d love to work with her again in the future because her editing services are thorough with great suggestions and attention to detail. Her kind and genuine interest in the manuscript, and the vision I laid out originally, makes Michaela an extraordinary editor. Everything I asked or commented on, she responded quickly, helpfully, accurately, and effectively. Every comment and suggestion she made on the flow, syntax, and development in my manuscript were extremely helpful.
Not only was she helpful with the edits, but she was genuine in her supportive comments and suggestions she made through the manuscript. If I need an editor again, I’ll definitely call on Michaela’s expertise and skill.
After Michaela’s editing, my manuscript is complete.

Working with Michaela is the best decision I have made as a writer. I was terrified to get my first editor. It meant that I was giving my work over to be critiqued, and most writers are scared of that. Michaela had such a good approach when looking over my work. She commented when things needed fixing, but also when things were good and she wanted to let me know that she liked it. That really boosted the confidence I had in my story. She is so good at working on your vision. She made sure the plot flowed, the ending wasn't rushed, the character's had full arcs, and the story actually had an impact on readers. My story went from being good to being amazing and I owe that to her hard work and dedication. Definitely a good choice if you're scared to get an editor.

When editing, I keep an eagle-eye out for the following:
Clarity, spelling, grammar, typographical errors, cohesiveness, awkward transitions, theme, character arcs, and plot. On Word 2019, I use the "track changes" feature and add comments throughout for thoughts and suggestions. This way, you can confirm or reject changes as you see fit. Of course, you have the final say over your project! I also use a similar process through Google Docs, and am comfortable using either program.
When you contact me, please feel free to include the first two chapters of your book, or the first ten pages - whichever comes first. I will edit these for free and on a trial basis. Next, I will send them back to you; this way, we can ensure that we're a good match for editing. Once this is confirmed, I will send you a contract that you may sign digitally. Payment is expected within two weeks of starting the project.
I specialize in Christian fiction, but will accept screenwriting, speeches, nonfiction, poetry, website/blog content, and articles (no explicit sex or heavy language. I'm okay with violence).
I value honesty, professionalism, and integrity. Because of this, I will not edit school essays - that is illegal. I reserve the right to reject a manuscript or project for any reason. This may include content, time restraints, and so on.
Please ensure that your manuscript is formatted in 12pt Times New Roman, double-spaced, with chapters beginning on new pages. Page numbers are not required but appreciated.
I am familiar with and have closely followed style guides for MLA, Chicago, and AP formats.
